1. Use wooden blocks to block the other tires. (Optional, but done for safety reasons.) Also, your car may have hub caps. Use the flat end of your lug wrench (Or a Flat tip screwdriver) in a small gap at the base of the cap and pry it off.

2. Using your Lug Wrench, (it should be stowed on your car with the jack) break the lug nuts loose, but do not loosen them more than about a turn, just loosen them enough to turn them without having to put excessive force on them. (This is because the wheel will spin when you get it jacked up and all your force will just turn the wheel and not the nut, so you have to loosen them so it will take less effort to turn the nut rather than the wheel.)

3. Jack the car up by placing the jack under the axle at the jack point just behind the wheel. (Look in your owner's manual to find this Jack Point)

4. Remove the lug nuts. (DON'T LOSE THEM!)

5. Remove the tire from the hub.

6. Place the new tire on the hub/lugs.

7. Re Install the Lug nuts tighten them down until you cannot tighten any more. Be sure you install them so the bevel of the nut, is in the bevel of the hole. This is to ensure good contact between bolt and wheel rim.

8. Lower the jack.

9. Tighten the lug nuts in a star fasion: 1 (5 Lug Wheel)

If you have a torque wrench, Use that. And torque to the amount of Foot Pounds stated in your user's manual. If you don't have one, Use your lug wrench, and tighten them down as tight as you can without using excessive force.

9B. Re Install the hubcap (optional)

10. Return the flat to a profession tire shop as soon as humanly possible, and have them fix the flat (or replace the tire whichever is necessary) and have them re mount the tire on your vehicle.

These same instructions should be in the Owner's manual.

Check your owners manual before starting. They will give you a better understanding on this short job. It is usually better to go by manufacturers instruction anyway.

Disclaimer (just in case something should go wrong): I have given these instructions on the basis of my experience and to my best knowledge. I am in no way responsible should something go wrong related to the advice I have given.
