Humans have evolved the use of tools and machines, and even machines to make tools to encompass almost any and all parts of our life.

If you think of going to a grocery store.
You drive to the store in a machine.
If you buy fresh beans, for example, they would have been planted and harvested with a machine, cleaned, and brought to the store with machines, and if they were canned, then processed and canned with machines too.
Other foods have had more processing by machines.
When I was a kid, the stores would put price tags on every item in the store and the checker would "ring them up" with a pretty simple cash register. Or, some stores had the consumers write on the packages with grease markers (hopefully the correct values), and then they were rung up. I can only imagine the future of checking out.
Note, with the use of machines, the variety of foods is tremendous, and there is little seasonal differences in availability of foods (other than prices). Without the machines, garden produce would only be available in the summer.
Now, after taking the food home using a machine (in machine made bags)
You might use a machine to blend or otherwise prepare the food, and another machine to cook the food. Noting, of course, that almost everything in your house had been made by machines.
Then after your meal, you throw the dishes into the dish cleaning machine.
Then go down to your favorite "Machine Made White Throne" to rid yourself of the waste.

While much of this can be "done by hand" and simple tools, the machines make the growth of cities and changes from small agrarian societies to metro societies possible.

And, truthfully, often it is pleasant to use some of the simpler tools.
