Red eared sliders mate at the age of 1-3 years ( females ).
Red eared sliders mate at the age of 1 6 years ( males ).
Both Male and Female have to be 6-8 inches.
For the most part this is false. Red ear slider females need to be atleast 6 inches and atleast 3 years old but usually 4 to 5 years old.
Males need to be 5 inches and atleast 2 years old but usually closer to 3 or 4 years old.
So basically unless your turtles are atleast 3 years old then there will be no mating, the male might try but the female will usually not "accept" until she is ready.
Are you stupid? Everything mates. Do you mate? It would be hard for them to still be alive if they didnt have mini baby red eared sliders. Well are YOU stupid. you obviously can not read, the question is HOW DO THEY.
Males become sexually mature between 2 and 5 years of age (usually around 4" long). Females reach sexual maturity later in age, between 5 to 7 years (6 to 8" long).
Females usually nest in May and June. The females have to have a place to dig (sand mixture) in order to bury their eggs. If they do not have a place to dig to lay the eggs outside of the water (to avoid drowning) then the female may become egg bound by refraining from laying the eggs.
once a year ever breeding season if they find a mate
About 2 times a year.
between 2 and 5 years old
october13 around there
if the red eared slider's shell is 15cm. it is 5 years old!
Red Eared sliders are aggressive over food, territory mates, etc. Most likely it was due to that aggression. I would suggest separating the sliders and taking the injured slider a vet. Good Luck!
Females have to be about 5-7 years old, 7 in. long. Males 2-5 years, old 4 inches long.
Provided the temperature us suitable, and their living space is secure from other animals - then yes. Just make sure they have enough room to have their own 'space' if necessary.
usually they will live for up to 50 years if you care for them properly otherwise they will live only 5 or 6
No, it becomes mature enough at 6 months.
AnswerDo you have a heat lamp for the turtle? See the Related Question below.AnswerMy baby turtle has the same problem but I'll tell you what I know... Red eared sliders can only eat in water, and they wont eat if its too cold or if your watching him/her. also try giving him/her different foods and try to see if he/she will eat that. also if it is a new turtle then wait a few day until it is used to its surrondings. and baby red eared sliders like meat alot more then anything else so try and give cooked salmon or cooked meat. I hope that your turtle eats!Another Answer:Red Eared Slider turtles eat MEAT when babies, make sure they are at home and comfy and not spazzing out, then slip a small piece of chicken in their tank. It will sink, but they should find it. Also, when Red Eared Sliders are babies, the water cannot go above their heads if they are on their back legs. Their heads need to poke out.
3-6 yrs old
yes. I have 2 females Red-Eared Sliders each 21 years old and one has laid eggs every couple of years for at least the past 10 years . Do i dont see why a Red footed tortoise wound not be able to
The age is 18 and ability to procreate doesn't change it.
About 6 months
yes they can. they will get use to each other and will get along. red ear sliders are more timid than eastern painted turtles. so he may be scared of the other turtle at first. but they will learn to get along.
