Whe turles are born they are left to leave alone and when they are first born the go to the water and the start moving there arms and leg and learn how to swim by being washed in the water by the waves the come along shawe
don't quote me on this but I think its instinct.
Turtles do not "learn" how to swim it is instinctual the moment sea turtles hatch they head for the nearest ocean (usually about 30 feet away) and swim away.
Sea Turtles swim in the sea because they eat fish.
