Seals are mammals. They Breathe air with lungs, through mouth and nostrils. And they have to Breathe while sleeping just like you and I.
Don't think so, at night I think they sleep on the shore Seals shelter around sand dunes and on rocky beaches. They neither build a shelter, not burrow for shelter.
