The stars are "fixed" in their positions in space. (Well, they actually do move - but because of the vast distances, they don't appear to move appreciably over the course of a human lifetime.) So, observing the rise times of certain stars and their precise elevations above the horizon will enable us to calculate our location on the surface of the Earth.

The star Polaris is very nearly directly above the North Pole; so, measuring the elevation of Polaris above the horizon will tell us our latitude within 0.7 degrees. if we also have an accurate watch, we can calculate our latitudes quite accurately.

One of the easiest celestial observations to make is the "local apparent noon" sight of the Sun. Using your sextant, measure the elevation of the Sun above the horizon. Continue to observe the Sun as its elevation increases, and note the precise time and elevation when the Sun reaches its maximum elevation. This is a one-sight "fix" of your position. The time of "local apparent noon", compared to your watch, will give you your longitude; the elevation above the horizon makes the math easy to calculate your latitude. This does require an ACCURATE watch, and a nautical almanac showing the true position of the Sun in the sky.

Which moon did the sailors use to navigate at night?

Well, on MY planet, there is only one moon. Not sure about your planet. Here the sailors generally do not navigate by the moon- but they do use stars. In the north, sailors use the Pole Star, also called the North Star or Polaris. In the far south, you can't see Polaris, so sailors use other groups of stars, like the Southern Cross.

What are the 9 sailor senshi?

there the planets and the people Sailors: Planets: Sailors Saturn Saturn Sailor Mars Mars Sailor Pluto Pluto Sailors Jupiter Jupiter Sailor Moon Moon Sailor Neptune Neptune Sailors Uranus Uranus Sailors Venus Venus Sailor Mercury Mercury Also, there are other Senshi that are not associated with the planets, like the Starlights (Sailor Star healer, Sailor Star Fighter, and Sailor Star maker) and those under the control of the villain in SMStars named Sailor Galaxia. Those Senshi are Sailor iron Mouse, Sailor Aluminum Seiren, Sailor Lead Crow, Sailor Tin Nyanko... There are more in the manga, but I won't tell you all of them. I do know that of course, the protagonist Sailor Moon is soldier of the moon, and Sailor Chibimoon (or in the English dub, Sailor Minimoon) is the younger version. Isn't there a Sailor Chibi Chibi/ Chibi Chibi Moon in Stars? I can't remember if she's a Sailor Senshi in the anime, but in the manga, I'm sure of it.
