Injecting power into the higher voltage winding of a transformer will make it act as a step down transformer; injecting power into the lower voltage winding will make it act as a step up transformer. A transformer can be used both ways.
A transformer consists of a 'core' (called a 'magnetic circuit'), around which are placed two coils, called 'windings'. The winding connected to the supply voltage is called the 'primary winding' and the winding connected to the load is called the 'secondary winding'. If the secondary winding has more turns (loops) than the primary winding, then the transformer is a 'step up' transformer; if it has less turns than the primary winding, then it is a 'step down' transformer. So, theoretically, and certainly in the case of a basic transformer, there is no difference between step-up and step-down Transformers -it depends which winding you use as the primary.
The higher voltage it transformed to a lower voltage by the use of a step down transformer.
rectifier transformer converts acinto dc.but, power transformer convert step up or step down ac energy without changing frequency
Whether a transformer is 'step up' or 'step down' has nothing to do with the way its windings are connected, so it could be wye-delta or delta-wye.
The only way to do that is with a transformer. They make inline transformers that convert 230 to 115 and they simply plug in inline.
the main function of transformer is to change the magnitude of Voltage. difference between step up and step down is step up will change the input voltage into a larger magnitude of output while step down is vice versa

By using a step down transformer.

Transformer does not convert MVA to KV. MVA is unit of power, where as KV is unit of Voltage. Transformer converts voltgae. Step up or Step down.
I suppose it could, but then it wouldn't be purely an isolation transformer. It would then be a isolation and either step up or step down transformer.
A transformer is used to step up or step down a Voltage supply.
ya. we are using diode in a battery charger to convert ac into dc. 230v dc is step down by using step down transformer

Yes, when using a step down transformer the amperage is affected.

the difference between a step up transformer and a step down transformer is that, in a tsep up transformer, the voltage secondary is greater than the primary side but in a step down transformer, the voltage secondary is lesser than the primary side
