In my experience I just call out to my departed one, or I quietly whisper when around people, just as I would have if I were with them in life. If you are sensitive you can "feel them" like a pressure changing in a room, as if they would have walked in when alive. Open your heart, trust in your faith, believing in God works the same way like when you KNOW the Lord is with you. Keep in mind that with some of our departed they have "moved on" to what ever is next for them. For example when my 80 year old grandparents passed I felt as if they had gone away on a long trip. I would say "I love you, I miss you" but truly felt like I was speaking to myself. I was happy and at peace and glad they were together and had lived long lives. I never dream of them. My mother however was young and died tragically At times she comes to me in dreams. Other times I can hear her voice, smell her skin or feel a static electricity around me that even subconsciously she is first in my mind. I would advise against doing any "spirit boards" or occult like things even dabbling can open a world you would never intentionally bring into your life. If your religious belief tells you to believe in a "Holy Spirit" than have "faith" and open your heart logically and don't be afraid to talk to more than one spirit. Balance and logic are key, all things within reasonable limits, not obsessive. You will have all answers and see all people soon enough. If you are so busy looking and listening for your dead, how can you live your life and keep your eye on your God.
No. Seances (spelling?) are where 'mediums' interact with 'familiar spirits', not the actual person who is either in heaven or hell. The stuff you see on TV anout this stuff is all entertainment - don't take it seriously.
The Bible says it is so and I will not dispute it, but those living can only speculate until our time comes.
It could happen during a sound and quiet sleeping.
Nobody can answer this for you as we do not know what happens (if anything) to us when we die. Belief in the afterlife is a matter of faith not fact. Reading the book Loved Ones in Heaven might help you.

Loved ones
In America, people want to die at home with loved ones, but instead they often die in medical facilities with strangers.

Yes, but you would have to have very few loved ones or die very young.
Allowing a loved one die is a ethical question that only you and your loved ones can answer. Everybody should talk with those they care about and find out how they feel about end of life care. A Medical Durable power of Attorney (MDPOA) should be assigned prior to the end of life, so that a caregiver is allowed to carry out a loved ones wishes. Below is a link to the stages of Alzheimer's Disease, that may help you decide what is best for you and your loved ones. A living will should also be made so that the loved ones wishes are written out in a legal form.
