A convergent plate boundary, otherwise known as a destructive plate margin, forms volcanoes. This happens when

-The subducting plate brings down silicates such as sand down with it.

-Eventually, the plate melts but mixes with the silicates. This forms a more viscose but lighter magma

-This rises because it is lighter until it reaches the moho, (the boundary between the lithosphere and the asthenosphere, (the plate and the stuff it floats own). This is the other plate.

-It then breaks though, slowly rising to the surface.

-It then erupts out of a volcano a few miles in to land.

(This is the continental-oceanic process. The oceanic-oceanic, is slightly different).

What kind of plates cause volcanoes?

Plates do not cause volcanoes. Volcanoes generally form at the boundaries between plates. They form at convergent and divergent boundaries.

Is forming underwater mountains and volcanoes convergent divergent or transform?

Underwater volcanoes and mountains can form at both convergent and divergent boundaries.

Is Mount Vesuvius near a hot spot divergent or convergent plate boundary?

Vesuvius is associated with a convergent boundary between the African Plate and the Eurasian Plate.

What kind of boundary do Shield volcanoes form?

hot spots and convergent boundaries

Is a volcanic island transform?

No. Volcanoes do not form at transform boundaries. Volcanic islands can form at convergent boundaries and at hot spots.

What is the similarities between convergent divergent and transform boundaries?

they both form volcanoes and earthquakes

Which of these hazards out of earthquakes volcanoes mountains trenches and mudslides are at convergent boundaries?

Earthquakes and volcanoes are hazards typically associated with convergent boundaries where tectonic plates collide. Mountains can also form at convergent boundaries due to the collision of plates. Trenches are associated with subduction zones at convergent boundaries where one plate is forced beneath another. Mudslides are not directly related to convergent boundaries.

How do convergent boundaries set up conditions that form volcanoes?

It collides with the upper mantle that forms volcanoes with violent eruptions

Which of the above of boundaries can produce volcanoes?

convergent

What boundary is it when a volcano formed?

Volcanoes can form at convergent boundaries, divergent boundaries, and at hot spots away from any plate boundary.

What are produced at convergent and divergent boundaries?

Volcanoes and earthquakes

What does a convergant boundary form?

There are three types of convergent boundaries: Oceanic, continental, and continental-oceanic convergent boundaries. Continental-continental convergent boundaries form mountain ranges. Continental-oceanic boundaries result in subduction zones and the recycling of lithosphere. The continental side of the boundary may form a mountain range. Oceanic-oceanic form deep oceanic trenches and sometimes volcanoes.
