Wetlands control the amount of water running threw them. They need water for some organisms or mammals to survive. So they suck up water and store it in the ground, when they need it it is used. That's why wetlands are called wet-lands!

they can prevent erosion by not letting people live near the ocean because people really don't care about whats in the water or anything like. if people would care then they wouldnt be throwing bad things that can cause erosion.
