Start in 2nd gear in your transmission and low range in the rear axle(switch down), then shift to 3rd, then 4th(using the clutch). When on level ground and need to get truck up to road speed, shift axle into high range(switch up). To go to high axle range, keep accelerator down, pull switch up, then gradually release accelerator and pause until shift is completed, then accelerate as needed. To go to low axle range, when climbing a steep hill and losing speed, keep accelerator down, push switch down, release and quickly depress accelerator. When shifting axle, you don't have to use the clutch.
