On a 1998 Ford Mustang :
With the engine OFF
- put your gearshift in first gear
- put your foot under the clutch pedal and gently lift the clutch pedal until the pedal stops
- slowly push the clutch pedal down
- you will hear a click if your clutch needed adjusting and adjusted itself
you cannot adjust you need new clutch.

It has a self adjusting clutch so all you need to do is get in the car lift the clutch pedal up as far as it will go (towards the dash) and then push it all the way to the ground and the clutch will adjust itself! Good Luck!
