Most US models have the 4AFE engine. On this engine, stand at the front of the car and find the semicircular metal wheel that turns when the accelerator pedal is pressed. This wheel has the cable from the accelerator pedal on it. This is near where the hose from the air filter enters the "throttle body". The idle adjustment is a screw just above this wheel. Your screwdriver will be horizontal when you adjust it. For 2 wheel drive cars the recommended idle speed is 700 rpm. For 4WD the idle speed is 800 rpm. I have not worked on a 4A-GE engine. The picture in the service manual indicates the adjusting screw is between where the hose from the air filter enters the throttle body. But your screwdriver will be vertical, with the handle up and the tip down, when you adjust it The idle speed should be set to 800 rpm.
