No but if a kid has been taken by the social worker or and you chose the age group of that kid, you can be fairly certain you will receive that child. otherwise they have a selection of random kids and they are all quite ugly.

∙ 13y agoyes you can. you need to get the phone and call the adoption service in 'services'. then you get to choose if you get a baby, toddler or child. you can't adopt a teenager. you can't choose what an adpoted child looks like, or their gender.

∙ 14y agoWell on Sims 2 and 3 it is both the same, just pick up the phone and go to services, then click adopt a child. On sims 2 you can only choose which sort of child you want eg. Baby, toddler or child. But on sims 3, you can choose which gender and everything.

∙ 8y agoYes you can However, it's not like you can just phone up a service, you have to wait. If the phone rings, then answer it and it might be the adoption agency. They ask you if you wish to adopt a kid.
