That depends on the model of the tent. A picture or even a description of the tent body, rainfly and number of poles would really help on this one.

What were tents made of in the early 1900's?

I would assume they were made of canvas. My uncle had an old army-type tent when I was younger and it was made of canvas. It was huge and very heavy. He kept it in an old foot locker chest. That would be my guess, though, canvas.

How To Choose A Camping Tent?

Camping is a fun, adventurous and affordable activity that can be enjoyed by family and friends of all ages. When preparing for a camping trip, shelter is definitely the first thing to consider. Camping tents are what comes to most people’s minds when considering a shelter for their adventure. Camping tents typically pack down into small, easy to transport packages that are fairly lightweight. This plus the relative affordability makes them an ideal shelter. With the many various camping tent options available out there, choosing what tent will work best is as simple as starting with how many people the tent in question needs to shelter. Ideally, it is a good idea to plan on getting a tent that deemed good for two people more than is actually needed. A two person tent barely has room for two people with zero extra space whatsoever. Two people can be comfortable in a four person tent with room to spread out a bit and space for some of their gear to be nearby. For a family of four, a six person camping tent would be best in that there would be room to sleep without having to touch other people unless by choice. Camping tents with multiple rooms are a great advantage in that one room can keep clean for sleeping while the another room can be used for changing clothes and storing gear. Some features to consider when buying a camping tent that are small things individually but add up to the overall quality of the tent and the camping experience. Heavy duty tent zippers are a plus. Those zippers will be opened and closed countless times, so it is a good idea to be sure they will hold up to such use. Meshing that is tiny and fine in order to keep out all bugs, even noseeums, is important to the comfort of campers. A quality rainfly is a good thing to double check on a camping tent before buying. The rainfly is the tent’s umbrella and a good one will extend down the sides of the tent instead of just on top. It is important to remember that rainflies are waterproof but camping tent walls are only water resistant. By being sure the camping tent has adequate space and can stand up to use, the tent will shelter campers in many adventures to come.

How do you put up a sports dome tent?

Step 1:Choose a good spot to pitch up your tent.A person could setup the tent, but it would be easier with 2 people. Expect to spend around 10 minutes to setup the tent.Step 2:Layout the tent. Stretch out the bottom so you know exactly where the tent will be.Step 3:Attach the tent poles. You will thread the poles through the sleeves on the tent. Once both poles are fully through, slot the ends into the keys as shown. The tent is now erected.Tips:Avoid straining the poles by either putting too much stress on each piece (eg. lifting the whole pole by carrying it from it's end) or bending it too much. You will definitely stretch the elastic cords and may break or splinter the poles.Step 4:Now the tent is up, secure it properly to the poles. You need to tie the top and then clip all clips to the poles. After doing this, stretch the base of the tent to its maximum. Now peg the tent down. You need to peg all 4 corners and the front and back as well. The tent itself is now fully setup.Step 5:Attach the fly sheet. You should hook the fly sheet to all 4 corners. Once done, attach the ridge tent pole which goes over the center of the tent. Remember to coax it into the slot rather than using brute force. You should proceed to velcro the fly sheet to the poles (shown on left).Step 6:Peg down the guy lines at the sides. This will keep the fly sheet off the tent, making the waterproofing more effective as there will be 2 separate layers.Step 7:Attach the magnetic light. The light comes with 2 pieces, the light itself and the metal base. Adjust the metal base on the outside until you reach a location you would like the light to be. Then slot the light itself to the metal base. We recommend the light to be standing near the seams, to reduce stress on the fabric. The tent with the fly sheet is fully setup as designed.
