Almost all birds like shiny things. I made friends with a new cockatiel once by just laying quietly on the bed and tossing a big shiny ring. It didn't take long for curiosity to take over and we made friends by playing catch with the ring.

∙ 13y agoYou can either blow kisses to them or have a cat toy (having a toy, however, will make them think you're going to play with them). Cats are very independent, so it's best just to let them come to you.
