You can use Typhlosion,Feraligatr or Meganium wahtever your starter is, you must have a Pokemon that has an opposision to your starter that has 5 levels lower or 5 or 10 higher level than your starter.

∙ 11y agoIf you mean to fight trainer red, get all 16 gym badges (8 from Jhoto 8 from kanto) then go to professor oak and he will give you permission to go to mount silver where you fight red
If you mean how to beat red, good luck. He has a team of level 75-81 Pokemon, so be careful
