To bleed the cooling system on a 1996 Olds Cutlass, locate the bleed valve, which is on the front of the engine above the water pump. After making sure the cooling system is not under pressure, open the valve by turning it counterclockwise. Fill the radiator with coolant until no air comes out the bleed valve, and a stream of coolant begins to flow from there instead. Tighten the valve and close the system to finish the job.
There will be air trapped in the system. The car may overheat and boil the coolant, causing damage.
Fill the radiator to the top with coolant. Start the car and keep checking the coolant level. The coolant level will drop when the thermostat opens up, so refill it.
Use the radiator cap as bleed valve. Make sure coolant is always to the top of fill tube to prevent more air from seeping in.
Before replacing the radiator hose on a 1996 Honda Civic drain the coolant system. Once drained remove any clamps holding the hose in place and pull the unit off. Replace with new hoses.
there isnt one after 1996
You don't fix it you replace it. Drain the radiator, replace the hose, and the thermostat, flush the system, install a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and water, bleed the system.
Any time you flush out the cooling system you need to bleed the cooling system.
check antifreeze. I have a small leak in my cooling system on my 93 civic and it does that when it's cold and out of coolant
Coolant is added to a 1996 Hyundai Sonata by opening the coolant overflow tank and adding coolant until the full mark is reached. This allows the cooling system to pull in coolant as needed from the reserve tank.
If there is one - it should be located in the top of thermostat housing
Have the coolant system pressure tested, the pressure test will increase the coolant leak.
