Decide if you want the block to be permanent or if you want the ability to have your number show to some people all the time. There are codes that you can enter that will make your number not visible on Caller ID as long as you remember to enter it before you make the call. If you think you won't remember, then perhaps the permanent solution is a better choice for you. You can always show your phone number for a particular call by dialing *82.
Create a preset list of contact. Numbers not included in the list will be blocked. On the other hand, phone systems with auto receptionist will have the callers leave their name then displays the name and number of the caller in your phone or our exclusive Call Controller pop-up tool on your computer. From here you can have the option to either accept or reject the call.

When it comes to home telephones (landline) with caller ID, one could contact their phone company and opt out of the caller ID service if needed. More importantly, the caller ID feature that we have come to trust is not as secure as it was in the past. Anybody can change or fake the number that is displayed on the caller ID with a simple spoof calling card. Be careful and remember that anyone can change their caller ID number.
