For an LMP to be certain, the following criteria must be met:
No hormonal contraceptives in the 3 months prior to LMP
Regular monthly menses for past 3 months
No vaginal bleeding since last LMP
Firm memory of her LMP (within 3-5 days)
LMP seemed like a "normal period"
Uterine size is within 4 cm of expected size
If these criterial are met, the LMP should provide the most accurate EDD.
To calculate the EDD from LMP, use Naegles rule, a pregnancy wheel, or a computer based program.
Naegles rule
LMP + 3 months - 7 days + 1 year = Estimated Date of Delivery
Pregnancy wheels
An inexpensive version is available from the March of Dimes

US is the only way to be certain your MW will send u for a dating scan to establish edd, if u know when u r likely to have conceived if u count back a fortnight from that date that would be around about ur lmp
I am not sure what the GA is(possibly Gestational Age), EDD is 'Estimated Date of Delivery' (due date) and LMP is 'Last Menstrual Period' from which the EDD is calculated. 40 weeks from LMP is EDD.
Add nine calendar months plus 5 days to the first day of your last period and this gives you your EDD (expected date of delivery). Eg LMP 4th oct EDD 9th July.
GA is gestational age which is how far pregnant you are. LMP is last menstrual period, which is the date of the first day. EDD is estimated dte of delivery (40 weeks from the LMP) The EDD may be changed if the ultrasound gestational age differs from the age by LMP by a lot.
EDD is ESTIMATED. If done by scan is 38 weeks from conception. An EDD is based on the LMP (last menstrual period) and not the date of conception. The ultrasound measurements are comparing the baby to the expected size of other babies at the same gestational age. The earlier the ultrasound is done in the pregnancy, the more accurate it will be. Hope this helps! Dr. B.
i only know LMP is Sep. 28 of the prior year,
Put the months in letters as dates like this are very difficult to read, and it may be a fetus to the doctor but surely it is a baby to you. Only you can know who you had intercourse with and when. An LMP of 16 February gives a date of 23 November, an error on the sonogram of 8 days is not without the bounds of possibility especially if the sonongram was performed after 20 weeks.
lmp
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FIGURE OUT THE FIRST DAY OF YOUR LMP (LAST MENSTRUAL PERIOD) AND THEN ADD 228 DAYS AND YOU SHOULD HAVE YOUR EDD.
When you have a dating scan the scanner compares the size of the fetus with the size of fetuses of known gestation. The gestational age assumes that the mother has a regular 28 day cycle and got pregnant 14 days before a period. the gestational age is calculated from this notional LMP. This is accurate in about 85% of cases. If you don't know your LMP and have been given an EDD/gestational age you need to take off 2 weeks to find an estimated date of conception. this website will help you. http://www.genetree.com/about/conception-calculator.asp
