2. Before you greet him, look at him and see if you notice anything about him that might be considered "common ground". Look at what he's doing or what he's wearing.
3. SMILE again, say "Hey" and make a comment about whatever you noticed before you approached him. For example if you noticed his shoes were Nike brand, you might say "Nice shoes. Where did you get them?"
4. If you and him have never met before, then introduce yourself to him and tell him how old you are, at the same time asking his age and name.
5. Ask him if he plays a sport. If he does, see when his next game will be and say you might show up there (if you can go).
6. Try to find things that he is interested in, and if y.u are interested in the same thing, talk to him discuss about it. For instance, a favorite music artist or hobby.
7. If you mess up, press on. Everyone makes mistakes, and he will like it if you show him you can recover from one.
8. Don't approach him yet if he's busy (like texting or listening on his iPod).
9. Try to end the conversation on a good note and SMILE while saying goodbye.
10. Make eye contact as much as possible.
