Actually, many birds can do very well with only one leg -- far better than humans. If this is a kept bird, you might keep the wings a little less clipped, so they can use the wings to correct a fall. If the wound is still open, treat with antibiotics and bandage until it heals -- this is often a problem as birds dislike bandages. You might want professional help here. If the wound is healed, no worries. Until the bird acclimates to the missing leg (which is usally not a long time), keep an eye on it to make sure it's safe. Be extra careful to make sure it can easily get to food and water.
When taking care of a baby bird, no matter how old it is, it is best fed with dog food, mixed with water...very little. I use a very small measuring spoon to start with, holding the bird in my left had and unfortunately insert the small spoon in the mouh of the baby bird...after a day or so...it will gladly open it's mouth for it's food. I have raised many babies this way, and released them in my yard. I have had several return to me for a couple of days trying to land on my hat...then I would sit on the walkway..with the dog food in a dish, and let them approach me. The would land about 5 ft. away...then hop over to the food. I had a sparrow that did this for 3 days before learning how to eat seed. She was precious and is now out there somewhere.
Only vets know how to take care of it.

To care for a bird with a broken wing you have to first mend (bind) the wing with some sort of caste or guaze. Then you give it what it needs such as enough water, food, rest and most of all love.
Take your bird to the vet right away. Chances are good that he has injured the wing and it hurts, so he is reluctant to move it.
The workman was injured when a piano dropped on his head.
A bird takes it's chicks under it's wing to protect them. When you take someone under your wing, you protect, care for, or mentor them.It means to take someone into your tutorlidge. Like to say a teacher gets a new student. They would be taking them under their wing.
If the bird wing was hit by a fan, you should take the bird to a veterinarian and have it looked at. Do not attempt to treat your bird at home.
