to change the one below alternator you need to take belt off take alternator out and bracket to get at it. the tensioner pulley you need to take belt off loosen the three bolt on assembly the pulley itself has reverse threads on it it would be a good idea to change both of them
The idler pulley is between the alternator and the A/C compressor.
To change the idler pulley on a 1994 Ford Bronco, first, ensure the engine is off and cool, then disconnect the negative battery cable. Use a socket wrench to relieve tension on the serpentine belt by rotating the tensioner pulley, and remove the belt from the idler pulley. Unbolt the old idler pulley using the appropriate socket size, then install the new pulley and reattach the serpentine belt following the routing diagram. Finally, reconnect the battery cable and start the engine to ensure everything is functioning properly.
Are you talking about the "idler pulley"? They are quite simple to change. Loosen the serpentine belt by using a socket on the center of the tensioner pulley, slide the belt off the idler pulley, use a socket to pull the center bolt of the idler pulley and replace the pulley with a new one.

Take the belt off, un-bolt the idler pulley, bolt the new pulley on, and finally put the belt back on and Viola!!
To change the idler pulley on a 1998 Delta 88 Oldsmobile, first disconnect the negative battery cable and relieve any tension on the serpentine belt using a wrench on the tensioner pulley. Remove the serpentine belt from the idler pulley, then unbolt the idler pulley from its mounting bracket. Install the new idler pulley, ensuring it is securely fastened, and reattach the serpentine belt before reconnecting the battery cable. Finally, start the engine to check for proper operation.
To replace the idler pulley on a 2003 Ford Windstar, first, ensure the vehicle is turned off and the keys are removed. Release tension from the serpentine belt using a wrench on the tensioner pulley, then remove the belt from the idler pulley. Unbolt the old idler pulley from its mount using a socket wrench, and install the new pulley in its place before reattaching the serpentine belt. Finally, double-check that everything is secure and that the belt is properly aligned before starting the engine.
The idler pulley on any vehicle is used to maintain the proper tension on the vehicle's belt(s). without it belt maintenance would be difficult.
Remove your idler pulley first. it is the pulley right next to the alternator.
To change the idler pulley on a Chevy Colorado, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal and relieve any tension on the serpentine belt using a wrench on the tensioner pulley. Remove the belt from the idler pulley, then unbolt the idler pulley from its mounting bracket using the appropriate socket size. Replace it with the new pulley, reattach the belt, and finally reconnect the battery terminal. Make sure everything is secure and test the installation by starting the engine to ensure the pulley operates smoothly.
To replace the idler pulley on a 1995 Ford F-350 7.3L, first, disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Then, use a wrench or socket to relieve tension on the serpentine belt by turning the tensioner pulley, allowing you to remove the belt from the idler pulley. Next, unbolt the old idler pulley from its mounting bracket and replace it with a new one, tightening it securely. Finally, reinstall the serpentine belt and reconnect the battery cable.
