You need to remove the air filter box, First. Then you'll need a Phillips screw driver and flexible arms and wrists. It is placed way in the back under the firewall over-hang. It is not a hard job, but a time consuming one.
Good Luck.
Change it. Don't be a dumb.
if it doesnt have a crankshaft sensor then you have a distributer pick up. Its under your distributer cap.
Depending on maker, it should have a number 1 raised letter on the cap
there is an ignition coil not a distributer cap......you should really get a haynes book to look up a few things just a suggestion:)
Mark each spark plug wire with a piece of tape and draw a picture on paper to mark where each wire is connected on the distributer cap. Remove all the wires. Remove two Phillips screws on top. Pull distributer cap off and replace. Put wires back on acording to your drawing.
Radiator. Remove the cap and add coolant there.
Under the distributor cap.

Points, no. Distributor cap, yes.Points, no. Distributor cap, yes.
Find the distributer cap. It is the thing all your spark plug wires are connected to. Usually in the center of the distributer cap a wire will lead all the way to the coil. My coil on a 1992 is located below the alternator bolted to the passenger side of the engine.
The Ram 5.7 does not have a distributor.
the same as an old points distributer right front #1_8_4_3_6_5_7_2 the center wire is just like a coil (and is) a coil
