How do you change a coil pack on a 1997 cavalier
To many steps to list here, would recomend purchasing a shop manual if you intend on replacing that heater core yourself.
The heater core resembles a small radiator.
if it has rear heat and air it has a heater coil in the back driver side check hoses to it and heater coil itself
The are no distributor cap on the 1997 Ford Expedition. You have eight coil packs one on each spark plug.

A Ford Mustang does not have a heater coil. You must be thinking of your home HVAC.
Where are the coil located on a expedition
Heater CORE, not coil. The core is plugged and needs back flushing or replacement.

How are the coils numbered
This could be caused by bad wiring but is usually caused by a weak coil. Change the plugs and install a new coil....I'd recommend doing all of them. This should take care of the misfire.
