I am assuming you mean "rocker cover" gasket. All you have to do is simply take the cover off, peal away all the old gasket, clean both gasket surfaces, and then use a small amount of RTV silicone in the corners of rubber gaskets (NOT CORK GASKETS) and then re-install the new gasket in place of the old one.
Rocker gasket? If you are referring to a valve cover gasket, no it will do no damage as long as you keep the oil level full.
I had the same problem when i went to change my plugs. It was the rocker cover gasket
you have to cut out the fuel cells because they are partially attached to the rocker cover gasket but that will not completely remove it you also have to remove the radiator and then the rocker cover gasket will be suspended in the air. You then have to cut the cords and the gasket will fall to the ground. And the rest is pretty simple.
Not necessarily. Check the rocker gasket.
A leaking rocker cover gasket and a leaking head gasket are two separate issues that can occur independently of each other. The rocker cover gasket is responsible for sealing the rocker cover to prevent oil leaks, while the head gasket seals the cylinder head to the engine block. However, it is possible for oil leaks from the rocker cover to drip down and give the appearance of a head gasket leak. It is important to have a professional mechanic inspect the vehicle to accurately diagnose the source of the oil leak.
yes
how do i take the rocker cover off to change the gasketon a 2001 2.7 hilux petrol
rocker cover gasket or valve inspection gasket leaking
Quite possibly a leaking rocker cover gasket. Could try just tightening top bolts slightly as a temporary fix. Or change gasket. When you put the top back on, make sure bolts are tightened evenly to correct torque, or gasket will leak again.
depending on where the oil is leaking from. sump gasket? rocker cover gasket? hoses? castings?
Yes they can depending on which ratio rocker arms you get.
no, you should just have to take out the bolts that keep the heads connected to the engine block, it may be sticky trying to take it off because of the gasket but it comes off.
