1 Celsius degree.A Celsius degree is 1/100 of the difference between the melting and boiling points of pure water whereas a degree Fahrenheit is 1/180 of the same range.
A change of one degree Celsius indicates the same temperature change as a change of (B) one Kelvin. (Isn't it easier to say that Kelvins are the same size as Celsius degrees ?)
A "degree" on the Celsius scale is larger than a "degree" on the Fahrenheit scale. There are 100 equal intervals (degrees) between 0 °C and 100 °C, the freezing and boiling points of water. There are 180 equal intervals between those same temperatures on the Fahrenheit scale (32 °F and 212 °F). That makes each Celsius degree 1.8 times as large (wide) an interval as the Fahrenheit degree. This is the basis for the "9/5" an "5/9" fractions in the conversion formulas (9/5 = 1.8). Some conversion formulas omit the fractions in favor of multiplying or dividing by 1.8, which is a single step. (see related questions)
There is either a little switch or you hold your finger on the button until it switches over.
Celsius makes better sense in chemistry, and the majority of the world uses it. I was brought up thinking in Fahrenheit degrees so I continue to use it. In conversations with friends around the world this causes confusion for me and my friends abroad. Starting to think in Celsius for younger people would be beneficial to them in the long run.
(x-32)*5/9
If thermo doesn't have both scales use chart below
Start with the thermometer in off mode. Hold the smiley face down and wait. The thermometer display will scans through multiple functions. The first display will be C*, you want to continue holding the smiley face until the display shows F*and then let go. This will change the setting from Celsius to Fahrenheit.
For a Meijer K1-8120 from Bestmed. Turn on the thermometer... when display pops up, press the button again. The units should now be in Fahrenheit . Hope this helps.
Hold on/off button and reset simultaneously for 3 secs
Electronic balance
With the unit in the off mode, depress the on/off switch and hold in until the "c" in the display switches to an "f." It will now measure in Fahrenheit.
Leave it off and then hold down start button until c flashes up on the display
Turn on the thermometer and continue holding down the on button for about 10-15 seconds until the "C" turns to an "F" then let go.
Hold the "on/Scan" button for 5 seconds while the thermometer is off. You will see a F when it has changed.
Hold the take temp button for 10 to 15 seconds until you see the F for fahrenheit appear on the screen
Quickly push down the button twice, holding down the second push until the F flashes.
