How do you change the dash light bulbs in a 2000 Chevy Tracker?
It is very easy, first you need to remove the plastic dash cover around the instrument panel. You need to remove two screws located up in the instrument panel. Remove 4 screws and remove the instrument panel, disconet 3 electric plugs behind the instrument panel. After this you will have the instrument panel in your hand and you can check one by one each bulb. It have 2 differents bulbs.
Not sure on the 89 Geo Tracker but on most newer vehicles the tail light bulbs can be accessed by openening the rear door and removing a panel that allows access to the tail lights if this is not possible you should have some type of screws on the tail light lenses itself that can be removed to access the bulbs. , EzForJesus my 91 Tracker 2 door had 2 small screws at the bottom…
Open the trunk and notice all the nuts that hold the light panel to the trunk lid. Remove all those nuts (must be 8 or 9 of them) and unplug the wire harness that feeds the panel. Now you can remove the light panel to service the light bulbs. Because it is a bit of a PITA, I recommend replacing all the bulbs in that panel while you have it out.
