Whenever I post something it always automatically only makes it visible to the new "close friends" group. How can I change this so it will automatically post so all my friends can see it?
Both of them have different settings ways. Twitter account privacy settings are limited while facebook settings are more specific and more custom.
That depends on what software or website you're talking about. Generally, privacy settings will be under "Settings" or "Preferences."
Go to Twitter Account settings from there you can set your privacy settings as per your requirement.
In Advanced Setting at the bottem of the Settings page or you can search Privacy in the search area of the settings page

It depends on your and the person you are talking to's privacy settings. No one but the person/group you are IMing can read the conversation but wall posts depend on privacy settings.
