Depends if it has a tensioner, or the older type manual adjustment. With a tensioner, put the correct socket on the pulley and depress it by hand until you get the belt changed. the manual style, loosen the bolts holding the slide, push in on the alternator to change belt, reverse to tighten.

You're going to need "The Book". A factory service manual (FSM) for your vehicle is the best. .
Chevy didn't make a 350 engine in 2001
It never changed on a 350 engine, It is still the same now as it was when they first made the small block engine.
Atk engines com or 350 Chevy engines com
WE need to know the YEAR. It would help answer your question.
As the Chevy 305/350 don't have belt tensioners you need to loosen the alternator and A/C comperssor and using a pry bar pull them until there is less then 1 cm of bounce in the belts the retighten them.
As long as the 350 is a fuel injected engine / TBI / Throttle Body Injection engine there is NO difference.
Pretty much any 350 Chevy engine from 1968 to 1987 will work.
