In order to change a heater core in a 1995 or newer s10 pickup, you have to actually remove the entire dash, and lower the steering column. I purchased a Haynes auto repair manual, # 24071, for under $20.00, and it gave me step by step directions on doing the repair. It took approximately 3 hours for removal, and approximately two hours to reinstall everything. Actually the job went easier than I expected.
