you need a 45 or 50 torqe bit
To remove the pulley belt tensioner from a 1995 Oldsmobile 98 Supercharger, first, disconnect the battery and relieve any tension on the serpentine belt by using a wrench on the tensioner pulley. Next, carefully remove the belt from the tensioner pulley. Once the belt is off, unbolt the tensioner from its mounting bracket, typically using a socket or wrench. Finally, lift the tensioner off the engine to complete the removal.
if you are wanting change intervals than its every 60,000 miles and you should check and replace the hydraulic tensioner and pulley
To replace the tensioner pulley on a 1995 Cadillac Seville STS, first, disconnect the negative battery terminal to ensure safety. Then, use a wrench to relieve the tension on the serpentine belt and remove it from the tensioner pulley. Remove the bolts securing the tensioner pulley to the bracket, replace the old pulley with the new one, and reassemble by reversing the steps. Finally, reattach the serpentine belt and reconnect the battery terminal.
If your car has a serpentine belt it will have a tensioner pulley. A tensioner pulley is easy to spot. All of your bolt on accessories i.e. water pump, alternator, a/c compressor etc. will have a pulley to run each one. There will be 2 other types of pulleys, a idler pulley and a tensioner. The idler pulley will be a single stationary pulley with a bolt going through the middle and the tensioner pulley will be on a spring loaded piviot.
To change the idler pulley on a 1995 Cadillac Seville SLS, first, disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the serpentine belt by using a wrench to relieve tension on the tensioner pulley. Next, unbolt the idler pulley from its mount using the appropriate socket, and replace it with the new pulley. Finally, reattach the serpentine belt, ensuring proper routing, and reconnect the battery cable.
The bolt on the tensioner pulley are opposite of a standard thread. That is, righty loosey lefty tighty. I know this first hand because I stripped the threads on my pulley trying to remove it on my 94 Sub.
No you can not, It is kept tight by a spring loaded belt tensioner with a smooth pulley on it. Probley needs a belt tensioner on it.
Use a socket and ratchet and place on the 95 Deville's belt tensioner pulley. Pull to the side to release tension on the belt. Remove the belt and replace it, then lower the pulley back into place.
Standard rh threads
Loosen the tension on the 95 Buick Park Ave belt by moving the belt tensioner to one side. Using a socket and ratchet on the tensioner pulley, pull to the side an remove the belt. Install the new belt an release the tensioner to hold the belt into place.
The tension spring is broken, and the entire assembly must be replaced.
You move the belt tensioner with a ratchet. Look and you will see that a 3/8 or 1/2 inch ratchet will fit in an opening in the tensioner pulley.
