How do you change the window regulator on the driver's side of a 1999 Hyundai Elantra?

ANSWER: If the cable came loose from the regulator or has broken, you'll need to replace the entire window regulator. 1. Remove the interior door panel. 1a. Rotate the window crank so that it points up. Wedge a flat-blade screwdriver downward between the crank and the trim ring. Pry back on the trim ring while turning the crank. This should hold the ring and retaining clip still, causing the clip to be pushed off the crank. Remove the crank. 1b. Pry loose the triangular garnish by the mirror. 1c. Remove the screw and door handle bezel. 1d. Remove the screws holding the door panel in place. I do not recall the location of all of them. Check around the edge of the door panel and check behind any trim plugs in the pull handle/armrest. 1e. Pull out on the bottom of the trim panel to unsnap it, lift off the door, and unplug any electrical connections. 2. Unbolt the window from the regulator and remove the glass from the door or block or tape it up. 3. Unbolt and remove the regulator. 4. Installation is the reverse of removal. Good Luck!
