All you do is get a drain pan and put it under the vehicle at the drain plug. First you will probably need to raise the vehicle some. It is easier if you just get a set of those ramps and drive it up on those. It is best to change the oil when it is at least still warm. Loosen the drain plug. Let it all drain out. When it is done then replace the oil plug. Then put the container under the oil filter and reomve the filter. You will need a oil filter wrench of some sort to get this off. Put the filter in the container and let it drain out. Then dip your finger in the new oil and run alittle along the new filter rubber ring. Then hand tighten the filter. I use Fram filters now bc you don't have to use tools to get them off. They have a grip on them. Now open up the oil tube and put in the amount. Depending if it is a v-6 or v-8 it will take 5 or 6 quarts. Use a funnel of some sort. Less spillage. Just clean any spilled oil and that's it. Good luck.

You actually have to remove the panel and allow the fluid to drain. Reseal the cover with cylicone and refill through the resivior. You can even use a fluid suction tool to suck out the fluid and refil through the resivior.

There are a few main steps into changing the vehicles engine oil in this application. The first is safely lifting the vehicle in a shop or on rated jack stands. The next is using a wrench to open and remove the drain plug (located on the oil pan). Once drained the bolt and gasket should be wiped clean, lubricated, and reinstalled. The next step is wrench or hand screwing of the oil filter and repeating the lubrication and cleaning steps on the mount, gasket and threads. Lastly the vehicle can be refilled through the oil fill stick and rechecked for level after restarting the engine.

Where to add transmission fluid on an automatic 2004 Pontiac sunfire?

There's probably no dipstick on a Sunfire that new. You need to add fluid at the transaxle itself. There's a plug in the side of the transaxle that needs to be removed to check or fill the fluid.

When to change transmission fluid on 2004 grand am?

This is from my Owners Manual Automatic Transaxle FluidIt is not necessary to check the transaxle fluid level. A transaxle fluid leak is the only reason for fluid loss. If a leak occurs, take the vehicle to the dealership service department and have it repaired as soon as possible. You may also have your fluid level checked by your dealer or service center when you have your oil changed. Change both the fluid and filter every 50,000 miles (83 000 km) if the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions: In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90F (32C) or higher. In hilly or mountainous terrain. When doing frequent trailer towing. Uses such as found in taxi, police or delivery service. If you do not use your vehicle under any of these conditions, the fluid and filter do not require changing.
