Yeah, it's called changing your armors. If you're not a Dragon Amulet Holder and you are still new to this type of thing, go to Osprey Cove or Shadow of the Wind Village. Then, talk to either Thyton or Rhubarb (they should be standing in front of the inns in both towns). Then, go to "Become a Pirate" (if you're talking to Rhubarb) or "Become a Ninja (if you're talking to Thyton). See the item they want you to buy (it costs 3.5k, eek!) and go to the shop next door and buy it. Go back to them, hand them the item, and then you should be able to equip the armor. Unlock new skills by doing random quests (the big button right under their speech bubble) and finding black pearls and wind scrolls for Pirates and Ninjas respectively
