You add the fluid ( ATF+4 ) down the dipstick tube. Check the fluid level at idle in Park.
It needs to be up on a lift and level. There is a small threaded plug on the back passenger side of the transmission housing. When plug is removed the fluid should be at that level.
These transmissions do not have a dipstick, the fluid level is checked by removing a fill plug on the case, similar to a manual transmission.
Check the engine oil level. Check the trnsmission fluid level. Is your mother in law still tied to the back bumber?
Pour it in at the same place you check it. You need a special funnel for this which you can buy at any auto parts store. Make sure the car is parked on a level surface and you check the fluid level according to manufactures recommendations. Do not overfill!
Check the transmission fluid level...no fluid...no go. Automatic transmissions are fluid or hydraulic driven, unlike standard or manual trannys where they use exclusively gears. If the fluid level is not sufficient, it will not move. If the level is just low, it will slip or slowly engage and will not shift properly.
There is a plug under the car that must be removed. It is located on the upper side of the transmission. Fill until lube comes out the hole.
