there is no fluid for a manual transmission
The 1987 Ford F3 50 transmission fluid capacity is 8.3 quarts. You can check the transmission fluid level with the transmission dipstick.
I have a 1987 Toyota 4 runner...I need to replace my manual transmission fluid....and I needto replace it with Lucas Transmission fluid....how much do I need to buy?
Auto
it depends if it is an automatic transmission it takes atf (automatic transmission fluid) if it's a manual it takes gear oil
most manuel transmissions hve a filter, to get at the filter the oilpan needs to be removed from bottom of transmission
in your tranny fluid check tube you will need a funnel
GET IT UP ON RAMPS ..ON THE SIDE OF THE TRANSMISSION THERE IS A PLUG.. USE A RATCHET WITH AN EXT. PULL THE PLUG ....STICK YOUR FINGER IN IF YOU CAN TOUCH GEAR OIL ITS OK ..IF NOT ADD UNTILL YOU CAN TOUCH IT
the red dipstick towards the backside of the engine
Same place you check it.
warm up the engine and then check the dipstick toward the back of the motor
automatic has a dipstick on drivers side manual has a fill hole in the side
The fluid level is checked at the transmission screw plug. The screw plug is located on the side of the transmission somewhat above the center of the body. Unscrew and remove the plug. If fluid drains out, the level is full. If it doesn't drain out, add fluid through the plug hole until the fluid is level with the bottom of the plug. Make sure you use the correct fluid.
