One old timetested way is with: Cruise control or a steady foot and a buddy with a stopwatch, on an very flat, straight section of Interstate highway with "milemarkers" every 1/10th of a mile or so. 60mph is 60 miles *IN* an 60 minutes, so you are actually traveling at 1 mile per every 1 minute. Pick a spot on the car [door post behind driver & front passenger?], get up to 60mph and hold it there precisely [may take some practice]. Clocking with the stopwatch, you should travel the 'measured mile' in exactly 60 seconds. Consistently getting there too soon means your speedometer is showing slower than actual. Arriving late means your speedo is registering faster than reality.

Radar guns are getting cheaper - BUT they should be tested for calibration just like your speedometer.

How do you change a Nissan 240sx 1995 transmission from automatic to manual?

I have researched this because I am considering making the conversion from automatic to manual transmission on my own 1995 240sx. It involves buying a manual transmission used from a junk yard or a rebuilt one, the clutch parts, a manual shifter, and the pedal with associated parts. there are actually lots of good resources to show you the specifics on how to do the work. Check out http://driftabout.com for links.

Why would a 1987 Ford Aerostar 3.0L digital speedometer light up but have no display?

The lighting system of all 80's fords speedometer is an independent circuit of the speedometer itself. When there is no display, one of 2 things could happen: 1-.The power line of the speedometer is damaged. Please check the ribbon cable if it doesn't have any gap in the cooper lines. 2.-Perhaps the 12V speedometer's internal regulator is damaged, you have to check if it is replaceable, if it isn
