The slight abrasiveness of the newspaper will cut through most grime. CAUTION: If you have had a tint applied to the inside of your glass, do not use this procedure on the inside. Do not use any Ammonia or Alcohol based cleaner on window tint. A very mild detergent in water will suffice.

Clean off any sealant with alcohol free solvent if the windshield is to be resused.
