"Cheese" is a simple program for photos and videos with a few effects for Linux. A similar program is "Photo Booth" for MacOS/iPad. For Windows there is "Movie Maker", but some (not necessarily older) versions come without capture features.

∙ 12y agoYou can use Streaming Video Recorder to download videos from website and change the downloaded videos' format to any other format that can be played on your devices. Without help of this kind of tool, it may a hard task for you to get videos from website like Utube, Hulu. They don't provide easy way to do so.

If you connect it through HDMI to USB, your computer should be able to recognize it as a camera and also as a storage device, so you can transfer footage. If your camera also has an SD card, you can purchase an SD card slot that will hook up to your computer through USB.
