make sure that your stero is compatible with the ipod you have. if not, then you ipod may be to old of a generation it sounds like either the connection on the iPod has gone bad or the cable/wire you used to connect the iPod to the stereo is bad. If you have a friend with a similar iPod, ask them to try and connect it to your stereo the way you connect your iPod. If it works, it's likely a problem with your iPod.
