Within reason yes. If the monitor has the right connectors that fit the Mac then it's basically a Plug-n-Play. You can't really expect to use a 50 inch monitor on a bottom of the line Mac Mini and expect to use it at the fullest resolution.
Researching the Macbook Pro has shown that the speakers port is available. One can use the headphones port located on the left front of the Macbook to connect speakers.

The 27" iMac is excellent for graphic design. The ultimate would be the Mac Pro paired with a 27" LED Mac Monitor.
If you are referring to the Mac OS, you should be aware that the Mac OS is uses a graphical user interface which makes it easier for users to navigate and use the operating system. If you are referring to the actual Macintosh hardware, you would use like any other computer. If an iMac, be aware that the screen contains the CPU as well as the monitor. If you are referring to the Mac Pro, you will need to have a separate monitor that you can connect to the back of the tower. Use the DVI port. You can use a dvi cable, vga cable (using the dvi adapter that came with your computer), or a DVI to HDMI cable. Just plug the cable into the computer and the tv and your Mac will do the rest.

The Mac Pro graphics card has two Mini DisplayPort outputs which will connect to a LED Cinema Display with a Mini DisplayPort connector cable that comes with the Cinema Display.
