If you type Mondi Baby in a search engine you will find their site (they are in Lombard IL). They have online insturctions and if it doesn't have the conversion instructions, you can send them a message from this site. I have recently purchased a Moni Crib too & don't have conversion instructions. I couldn't find them online so I sent a message to the company.
You have to buy the conversion kit....but they have discontinued the crib set and you can not find one anywhere! I am having this issue now!
The Simmons Valncia crib is very easy to convert, but you'll need a cheap hex wrench to do it.
There are a number of cribs that convert into toddler beds, but the Da Vinci Systems Emily 4-in-1 Convertible Crib actually converts from crib, to toddler bed, to daybed, to fullsized bed -- it can literally last your child from infancy to college.
The best crib is the DaVinci Emily 4-in-1 convertible crib. It converts to a crib, toddler bed, daybed, and double bed. The mattress adjusts to 4 heights and it is a reasonabe price.
Not according to the CPSC and Simmons websites.
The Simmons Furniture Valencia Crib converts into a day bed and a toddle bed.

It is actually very easy! All you need is a Phillips screwdriver. Unscrew the drop-side rail and take it completely off. Then take the mattress off, and lower the platform that the mattress sits on to the lowest level. That's it!
You would most likely need a crib mattress if you have a small child who sleeps in a crib. You may also need one if you convert to a small toddler bed in which case you could also use a crib mattress.
If you contact the manufacturers, they might just send them to you for free.
I just bought a Simmons crib at a yard sale. I noticed the assembly pamphlet was dated 1983,so I did some research. The most helpful site was listed on Google as Simmons Juvenile Products Company, Inc. There was a recall on some cribs, and the site explains how to check the label for the affected dates of manufacture. Although the pamphlet for my crib was dated 1983, it was actually made in 1992. (The recall was for the mattress brackets). Check out that site and see if it answers your questions.
The size mattress that goes in a daybed is a twin size mattress. A daybed is piece of furniture that can be used as a seating area or a sleeping area.
