Coming from experience. You first have to come to terms and realize what you are doing is wrong. You are only hurting your body sweety. Bulimia can cause problems, too many to name and for one even prevent you from one day having children. It causes more harm than good. You yourself need to stop and realize that you want to live and lead a healthy life, and that you are BEAUTIFUL and NOTHING is WRONG with you. If you have confidence in your self, people see that and admire that. To get rid of the pooch.....proper diet and exercise....that does not mean starving yourself. Just eat what is right, and avoid fast foods, grease, and too much sodium intake because it will make your body retain water. Your body will thank you and you will see the right changes! There is nothing better than someone like the above poster who has gone through this and offers good advice. I just wanted to add that "Weight Watchers" is an excellent place to starts. It's more about corrective eating habits than diet and you will end up the weight you should be. Yes, you will lose weight if you are truly over-weight. You need not tell them anything confidential about yourself. They may ask you what weakness' you have such as snacking between meals, a desire for sweets (especially chocolate) but as far as your Bulimia it is no one else's business unless you choose to make it their business. Weight Watchers (no I don't work for them, but have gone to them) has a great support system. Good luck hon

Anorexia is different from bulimia because anorexia is were you eat no food and you get really skiny were you see your bones and bulimia is were if you eat food you puke it back up and you see your bones as well and there is no cure to anorexia and bulimia.
Anorexia and bulimia, while eating disorders, are primarily mental disorders. I believe to cure the person of these diseases, they should seek psychiatric advice and learn to love their bodies.
It's not an eating disorder 'caused by', but rather 'classified by' and it is known as Bulimia Nervosa. Google it.
