How do you defeat golbez in final fantasy iv DS?

First I found a save point, saved, then went to fight Golbez. First in the battle, you'll attack him, but it won't do much damage.(No matter how high your level is, trust me)Then Golbez will summon a "Shadow Dragon".(or something along the lines of that,But It is some kind of Shadow dragon)Golbez will use the shadow to kill all of your people, but he saves Cecil for last. But when he's about to kill Cecil,Rydia comes in with her "Mist Dragon" to kill the shadow dragon.Golbez gets pretty peeved(mad)and changes what he's weak to. I used a besitary item to see what he's weak to then used Rydia's summon spirit that is the same as the weakness.(ex.If Golbez is weak to fire, use Ifrit, the fire spirit.)After you attack him once doing this strategy, he'll change his weakness again. Just do the strategy above 3-4 times and BAM you defeat Golbez for now.

Use Libra and find out his weakness and then have rydia spam his weakness.

Before Golbez Summons Dark Dragon (assuming you do get a 2nd turn):
Rosa - 'Shell' Cecil then 'Slow' Golbez
Yang - Attack then Attack
Kain - Cry then Hide (Augments)
Cecil - Attack then Attack

When Golbez summons Dark Dragon, all your party members will die except Cecil and Kain. Cecil will be saved by Rydia, who will summon Mist Dragon to destroy the Dark Dragon. By all rights this should have killed Golbez, but it didn't, so...Anyway, Kain isn't supposed to survive, but by giving him Hide as an ability (don't worry, u can get rid of it later for something better), you can avoid Dark Dragon. To return Kain to the battle after Dark Dragon falls, select Return and Kain re-enters the battle.

If you had trained Cecil and Yang to any substantial level, they should have taken quite a bit out of Golbez before he summoned Dark Dragon. Now, Cecil should use Libra. This will allow you to see Golbez's weakness (Golbez's weakness constantly changes). Rydia should use the Summon of the element Golbez is weak to. Kain should use a Silent Bell on Golbez first, then just Jump. This will allow him to avoid Golbez' Magic temporarily.

You must go to the infirmary in Troia. You will find Edward there, he will be unable to fight. He will give you an item called whisperweed. Then go back to where the dark elf is and you can fight him normally (his attacks will NOT always do 9999 damage)

Use Ifrit and Fira, as he is weak to Fire.
