One single window might be tough but the whole screen is dimmed as follows:
- Click the "Apple" logo located on the top right corner on your screen. Select "Preferences" from the pop-up menu.
- Click "Appearance" and click "Displays" to launch the display preferences. Click the "Display" tab.(this is also where you set the resolution you want to use in the "Resolutions" box).
- Move the brightness slider left to make your screen dimmer or right to make it brighter. Click the "Automatically adjust brightness as ambient light changes" check box if you want your screen to adjust with the changes in light.
