It is a glitch. If the car wont start put the key in the ignition put it in accessory and wait till theft light goes out. Then restart car. We spent 1500 dollars on replacements then found this is a recall and a known problem that Chevy intends to do nothing about. We have a 2001 Chevy Malibu.
