- extremely calm & relaxed
- "trilled" meow
- medium to long fur
- fur between foot pads
- a ruff
- if you have several cats the Maine Coon is often "Topcat"
The absence of some of these does not mean the cat isn't a Maine Coon. For example mine does not "trill" his meow, but his brother who isn't a Maine Coon does.
