There are many different conditioning in swimming. One exercise that I do at swimming is flutter kicking. Flutter kicking is where you lay on your back, put your hands under your butt, put your feet in about 6inches-1foot in the air, and start to kick slowly wit straight legs. (Don't bend your knees.)
Beating the heat by swimming, socializing in the cool of the evening, etc.
This question is too vague. Relief from the heat? in what context? Air conditioning, swimming pool, shade... there are many answer, depending on your context.
The american southwest provides examples of positive and negative changes. Before the era of Swimming Pools, air conditioning, massive irrigation, and automobiles, this hot, dry region had few residents.
Before air conditioning, elderly people would survive humidity by staying in shaded areas, using cool cloths or fans to stay cool, and keeping windows open to allow for better air circulation. They may have also worn lighter clothing and drank plenty of water to stay hydrated. Additionally, they may have taken advantage of structures built with natural cooling features, such as high ceilings and porches.
There are several ways to get nice and cool during the hot summer months. Some good ways are swimming, relaxing in the air conditioning, and drinking plenty of water.
Fear conditioning is accomplished by pairing a neutral stimulus (such as a sound or a picture) with an aversive stimulus (such as a mild shock or a loud noise). Over time, the neutral stimulus becomes associated with the aversive stimulus, leading to a fear response when the neutral stimulus is presented alone. This type of associative learning is often used in behavioral psychology research to study fear and anxiety.
I can't live without air conditioning in the summer.
