Click on the bottom toolbar of the computer. Click on the icon on the right side of the toolbar that says "Safely Remove Hardware". Left-click on the icon to remove the USB that you are using if you are confident that that is the USB you want to eject. Right-click on the icon if you are not sure and would like to see the details of it before ejecting it. Wait for the message that instructs you to eject before removing it. Another way would be to shut down your computer before removing the USB drive. DO NOT plug it out without doing the above instructions, as this might lead to loss of information and damage the USB drive.

∙ 14y agoGo down to the bottom right hand corner of your screen. There you will see a symbol that looks like a flash drive. Left click on that symbol and press "safely remove hardware". Then after a few seconds a screen should pop up telling you that it is safe to remove your USB device and you can safely unplug it.

∙ 8y agoIn Windows open my computer right click on the drive and click eject. On Linux open disk management and unmount the drive. Sounds to me like you are a noob.
You right click on the icon on the bottom of your desktop screen and it will give you options and you click on "eject now" and it will tell you when it is safe to pull out your flash drive.

∙ 11y agoMost computers have a small utton to click down on the bottom of the right hand side (if you cant find it hover over the buttons) then click on it and click "remove (name of USB) then its safe to remove your USB and you can just pull it out.
